Why This Build Works

Off-field Anemo support whose Burst (Booglecat Box) absorbs an element, taunts, and whose A4 grants team ATK% scaling with elemental diversity (up to +20%). 4pc Viridescent Venerer gives 40% RES shred on Swirl; Favonius Sword solves her energy need.

Key Stat Threshold

ER 200%+ as solo Anemo (160% with another Anemo, ~150% at C6); Anemo DMG Goblet, CRIT if Favonius; aim 1,600-1,800 ATK.

Current Meta Status

B-tier free Anemo support; an accessible VV holder behind Kazuha/Sucrose, fine in 5.x/6.x but power-crept by Xianyun and Lan Yan for Anemo utility.

Entry vs Endgame Build

Entry Level Build
Iron Sting (craftable)

Focus on main stat correctness. Set bonuses matter less than having correct main stats.

Endgame Build
Favonius Sword / Iron Sting

Optimize substats for perfect ratio. Sacrifice HP/DEF for more offensive stats.

Summary: Is Lynette Worth Building?

Lynette provides Anemo application, VV shred, and an ATK buff from her burst. With the right investment, Lynette performs at a 6/10 level in current content.

When NOT to use this character

Needs C6 for on-field DPS and high ER; outclassed by Kazuha, Sucrose, and Xianyun for shred, grouping, and plunge synergy.

Community Controversy

Lynette vs Sucrose as the VV holder: Sucrose grants EM for Aggravate, Lynette grants an ATK buff and taunt; debated per team archetype.

In-Depth Guide

Lynette is the budget Anemo slot, and her value has almost nothing to do with grouping. What she actually brings is an indestructible taunt that absorbs an element and fires it back, plus a team ATK buff that scales with how many elemental types you can fit into the party. Her burst (Magic Trick: Astonishing Shift, 70 energy, 18s cooldown, 12s duration) summons the Bogglecat Box, which taunts nearby enemies, ticks Anemo damage, and absorbs the first Hydro, Pyro, Cryo or Electro it comes into contact with - with Cryo taking priority over Pyro over Hydro over Electro. Once absorbed, it fires additional Vivid Shots of that element for the rest of its duration, and her fourth ascension passive grants her burst 15% more damage after the conversion happens. The box cannot be destroyed while it is active, which makes her taunt more reliable than most. Her first ascension passive is the reason her team building looks odd: within 10s of using her burst, the whole party gains 8%, 12%, 16% or 20% ATK depending on whether the party contains one, two, three or four elemental types. In a typical three-element core you get 16%, and it is not worth distorting a team just to reach 20%. Note that the buff lasts 10s while the box lasts 12s, so it often expires before the box does. Her skill (Enigmatic Feint) dashes on press and, on hold, marks an enemy with Shadowsign while letting you steer her movement. It heals her on hit and then drains HP over the following seconds, which conveniently lets her use HP-change gear such as Marechaussee Hunter. Her C1 adds a small vortex pull when the thrust hits a marked enemy, which is the closest she gets to crowd control. Viridescent Venerer is her default set, and she typically wants an ER Sands, landing around 160-180% ER at C0. Favonius Sword is the safest weapon; Iron Sting is the choice if you want to lean on Swirl damage instead. Where she struggles: she cannot group enemies, which is the single biggest reason Kazuha, Sucrose and Venti are preferred in the Spiral Abyss. Her taunt does nothing against bosses and enemies that ignore it, her personal damage stays low even with heavy investment, and her ATK buff is both small and short. In practice she is a Viridescent Venerer holder with a modest buff and no crowd control.
