Furina is the strongest generic damage amplifier in the game, and her kit is built on one tradeoff: she drains the whole party's HP to build Fanfare stacks, then converts those stacks into a team-wide damage bonus of up to 75% at C0. This is why she effectively requires a team-wide healer - without one you get a fraction of the buff and a party that is permanently at low HP. Her skill has two stances. Ousia (default) summons three companions that deal off-field Hydro damage and drain party HP - this is the damage stance you use in almost every team. Pneuma summons a single healer that reverses the drain when your team already has enough sustain. Switching stances is free, so the correct play is Ousia for damage and Pneuma only when you need healing mid-fight. Furina's damage scales with HP, but her burst buff scales with nothing you can build - it depends only on how many Fanfare stacks you generate. That makes her unusually forgiving: her personal build (HP and CRIT) and her support value are almost independent. Where she struggles: any team that cannot heal the whole party loses a large part of her value. Single-target healers like Bennett or Kuki are much worse with her than team-wide healers like Baizhu, Kokomi, Jean, or Charlotte.
