Why This Build Works

Physical carry whose Pressurized Floo builds a Pressure gauge via Normal Attacks; Shattering Pressure at Level 4 deals heavy Physical DMG. 4pc Pale Flame (or 2pc Pale Flame + 2pc Emblem) rewards frequent Skill casts with ATK and doubles the Physical DMG bonus. Superconduct from an Electro teammate is mandatory to shred Physical RES.

Key Stat Threshold

ER ~125-130% solo (more with triple Cryo), ATK% Sands / Physical DMG Goblet / CRIT circlet; target ~70% CR, 200%+ CDMG, and 1,500-2,000 ATK.

Current Meta Status

B-tier 4-star physical option; below Eula and 5-star carries but a strong F2P physical pick still usable in 5.x/6.x Superconduct or Freeze teams.

Summary: Is Freminet Worth Building?

Freminet alternates between cryo and physical damage with his pressure mechanic for flexibility. With the right investment, Freminet performs at a 5.5/10 level in current content.

When NOT to use this character

Low skill multipliers and thin support pool beyond Mika; outclassed by Eula, Clorinde, and Furina-era carries for raw damage, and weak vs high-PHY-RES bosses without Superconduct.

Community Controversy

Physical (Pale Flame) vs Cryo (Blizzard Strayer) build: the Cryo variant is smoother but generally weaker; also debated whether he is worth building over Eula at all.

In-Depth Guide

Freminet is a Physical damage dealer wearing a Cryo Vision, and that mismatch defines both his build and his ceiling. His single largest hit - a Level 4 Shattering Pressure - is pure Physical damage, and he is also the only character in the game whose passive rewards triggering Shatter. His skill (Pressurized Floe) opens the Pers Timer for 10s. During it, his normal attacks release frost waves that deal Cryo damage (counted as Elemental Skill damage) and raise Pers's Pressure Level. Pressing the skill again fires Shattering Pressure, which changes with the level you have built: level 0 is Cryo only, levels 1-3 are a mix of Cryo and Physical that scales with pressure, and level 4 spends everything on a Physical blast. At level 4 his normal attack is also replaced by Shattering Pressure until you jump to cancel it. The basic loop is therefore skill, four normal attacks to reach level 4, then skill again for the finisher. His burst (Shadowhunter's Ambush) ties it together: it deals AoE Cryo, resets the skill cooldown, and puts him into Subnautical Hunter for 10s, granting interruption resistance, a 70% reduction to his skill cooldown, extra Pressure per normal attack, and frost waves at double damage. That window ends the moment he leaves the field, so it is a committed on-field burst phase. His fourth ascension passive gives 40% more Shattering Pressure damage for 5s after he triggers Shatter, which is the clearest team-building instruction in his kit: he wants a Hydro unit so enemies can be Frozen and then shattered by his claymore, plus an Electro unit for Superconduct to cut Physical RES. For artifacts, Pale Flame 4pc is the standard Physical build, with ATK% sands, Physical DMG goblet and CRIT circlet. Song of Broken Pines is his thematic best option because it gives Physical DMG Bonus along with a team ATK buff; Serpent Spine and Snow-Tombed Starsilver are the practical choices. His C1, which adds 15% CRIT Rate to Shattering Pressure, is his most valuable early constellation. Where he struggles: his damage is split across Cryo and Physical, so no single buffer scales all of it - Shenhe only touches the Cryo half. His Shatter passive is dead against any enemy that cannot be Frozen, which includes most bosses, and his multipliers are dated for a modern on-field carry. His burst state ends on swap, he needs long field time, and he is outclassed by Eula as a Physical carry and by Ayaka or Wriothesley as a Cryo one.
