Why This Build Works

Current Meta Status

Summary: Is Alhaitham Worth Building?

Alhaitham is the best on-field Dendro DPS. His mirror management rewards skill and his Spread reaction damage is exceptional. With the right investment, Alhaitham performs at a 9/10 — flexible, works in Spread and Hyperbloom. level in current content.

When NOT to use this character

Mirror management is punishing if mistimed — losing 3 mirrors wastes 30%+ of damage. Needs significant field time. Requires a second Dendro (Nahida) for optimal damage.

Community Controversy

Alhaitham vs Nahida as Dendro DPS is commonly debated. He deals more on-field damage; she provides team-wide EM buff. Most accounts benefit more from Nahida first.

In-Depth Guide

Alhaithams complex mirror mechanic is the key to his high damage ceiling. His E skill generates 1 mirror, plunge attacks generate 1, and his Q generates 3. Each mirror increases his attack speed and converts his attacks to Dendro damage. Three mirrors provide roughly 90% more damage than one mirror. The optimal rotation requires managing mirror count carefully. Start with 0 mirrors: Q (generates 3) -> N4D x3 (consumes 1 mirror every 4 seconds) -> when down to 1 mirror, use E and plunge to refresh to 3 -> continue attacking. This gives you approximately 12 seconds of 3-mirror uptime per rotation. Alhaitham works in two team archetypes: Spread and Quickbloom. Spread teams maximize his personal damage with Electro off-fielders (Fischl, Yae Miko). Quickbloom teams sacrifice some personal damage for Hyperbloom procs (with Kuki or Raiden). Both are viable, but Spread has a higher ceiling with proper investment. His best stat spread is different from most DPS characters: he wants EM more than ATK. EM Sands is often better than ATK Sands, especially in Spread teams where EM increases both his personal damage and reaction damage. Where he struggles: Alhaithams rotation is punishing if interrupted. Getting knocked back during the mirror-optimization phase can ruin the entire rotation. He also requires field time that conflicts with other on-field units. Without Nahida on the team, his personal damage drops significantly.
